Goals Of The Early Learning Center

SUPERINTENDENT'S DISTRICT GOAL #1
To continue the work of imbedding a tone of decency and respect in all facets of the Malden School Community

RATIONALE
In order to assure equitable opportunities for all
students to access high level educational opportunities, we must develop a common understanding and articulation of benchmarks that will reflect a truly decent and respectful school system. Everyone in our school community must work towards this goal.

ELC's GOAL To foster decency and respect toward all staff members, children and their families working at or attending the Early Learning Center.

ELC’S RATIONALE
Because Early Learning Center students and their families are highly multicultural, teachers, parents, and children must become aware of cultural differences/similarities, as well as their values, and take them into consideration when developing common objectives for learning.

General Information

ELC’S STRATEGIES

  1. Continue to stress the school-wide initiative of developing an atmosphere of decency and respect in all facets of the Early Learning Center during monthly staff meetings.
  2. Provide professional development opportunities that facilitate staff’s understanding of cultural differences, learning diversities, and other variables of development that affect overall educational growth.
  3. Provide the necessary support so that all teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals are able to activate and utilize accommodations and/or modifications needed for all students to learn maximally.
  4. Continue to hold parent and teacher support groups and parent-teacher meetings as forums to voice problems and concerns, to brainstorm and to develop solutions/plans.

OUTCOME
Through education and the power of example, staff and families will be cognizant of the importance of decency and respect in the overall education of their children, their roles in fostering cooperation and collaboration, and the manners in which these values are displayed.
